KLE University NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PHARMACOVIGILANCE 2011

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PHARMACOVIGILANCE

12th April 2011

ORGANIZED JOINTLY BY

KLE University Post-Graduate All India Entrance Test 2011K.L.E.University’s
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College,
Belgaum, Karnataka, India,
Regional Medical Research Centre,
Belgaum,

[as part of ICMR Centenary Celebrations] Indian Pharmacological Society, and IPS, Belgaum Branch.

Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) results in 0.3% to 7% of hospital admissions & forms 4th to 6th leading cause of death among hospitalized patients. Despite awareness, practicing doctors do not report ADRs due to their busy schedule. Hence there is a need for alternative approach to identify, analyze & report the ADRs in order to minimize the incidence. There is a need to establish Pharmacovigilance Centers across the country.

Objectives of Pharmacovigilance activities are to detect, assess, understand and prevent the adverse effects or any other drug-related problems. The objective of the symposium is to propagate the information regarding the activities of Pharmacovigilance Centers and create awareness among the practicing doctors. We request you to take the benefit of the symposium in which renowned speakers from different parts of the country are participating. Kindly bring this information to the notice of faculty members and PG’s of Pharmacology & Clinical departments and encourage them to attend the “National Symposium”.

Please note that number of delegates is restricted to 200 on the first come first serve basis. Spot registrations are not entertained. Hoping to meet you on the day of symposium.
